The Absurd Angle

A commitment to developing and maintaining meaningful and thoughtful sets of hypotheses.

I am a retired elementary school teacher who has spent the better part of a lifetime reading, learning and asking the sometimes insignificant but often meaningful questions about how we navigate life as humans.

A passion for seeking out and forming sets of working hypotheses for everyday life

definition: A hypothesis is a concept or idea that you test through research and experiments. In other words, it is a prediction that can be tested by research.

Step 1

Identify the Problem: Start with a clear understanding of the issue you want to address.

Step 2

Gather Data: Use analytics and user feedback to inform your hypothesis.

Step 3

Define Variables: Clearly specify what you will change and measure

Step 4

Formulate Hypothesis: Create a precise and testable hypothesis.

Why Hypotheses

I base most of my theories upon observation. Although observation has been a historically accepted way to gather data. Time and time again humans have been proven to be highly unreliable when recounting what the observation consisted of. Think of all the DNA testing that has freed citizens from our penal system. Many of those convictions based on eye- witness testimony. Using a hypothesis allows me the freedom to change and amend my insights when more accurate data presents itself.

Walking

  • I like to take walks in nature.
  • Walking helps me think.
  • I like to take pictures of various sights that I encounter.
  • Sometimes I will post them here

Research(reading)

  • I have always been an intensely curious person.
  • I learned early on that if you wanted thoughtful accurate answers to your questions, the answers given by adults were quite debatable and highly suspect at best.
  • The best way to accurately answer all the myriad of questions that I had was personal research at the local public library.

The cure for boredom is curiosity. There is no cure for curiosity: A quote by Dorothy Parker.

one of my favorite quotes about curiosity
